Rhymes with Reason’s mission is to ensure all students build stronger vocabularies. To accomplish this goal, it’s essential that Rhymes with Reason is a safe place for students to learn. Protecting the privacy of our users is fundamental to our mission and business.
This Privacy Policy governs how With Reason LLC (“Rhymes with Reason,” “RWR,” “us,” “our,” or “we”) collects and uses your information through your use of our Service at rhymeswithreason.com (collectively “the Service”). This Privacy Policy describes how RWR collects, uses, transfers and discloses the information collected from and about you, and what choices you have with respect to your information.

As a school district, school, school administrator, teacher, after school program, or other organization who uses the Service (each a “Teacher”) to assist students in building vocabulary by using the Service. As a student using the Service. To use the Service, Teachers must create an account (“Account Information”).
For the sake of clarity, any data collected by RWR that can be reasonably linked back to an individual student is considered “Student Data.”
How We Collect and Use Information
Capitalized terms that are not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meaning given them in our Terms of Service.
We collect the following types of information about you: Each Rhymes with Reason account is protected with a password. Make sure that you and any students associated with your account keep these passwords a secret at all times to prevent unauthorized access to your account. You are responsible for any activity that occurs while you or any students associated with your account are logged in to Rhymes with Reason, whether or not that access is authorized by you. If you think that someone has gained unauthorized access to your account, please contact us immediately.
Information We Collect From You Directly
Account information: You must register in order to access the features of Service. We ask for certain information such as your email address and password when you create a Rhymes with Reason account, or if you correspond with us.
Data collected through the use of the service: After you set up your account, Teachers will assist Students to access to Rhymes with Reason. Students will input a School ID, their first name and their last initial. No other personally identifying information is collected. (Note: We work with third-party services that enable student single-sign-on (“SSO”) where no student information is collected or stored by the service. Note the use of such third-party SSO services is something that you must set up and run fully separate from the RWR Service.)
Messages and User Content: We may send you Service-related emails (e.g. account verification, change or updates to features of the Service, technical and security notices). You may not opt-out of Service-related e-mails. For more information about your communication preferences, see “Your Choices Regarding Your Information” below.
Information Automatically Collected
We automatically collect certain types of usage information when you visit our website or use our Service. When you visit the Site, we may send one or more cookies — a small text file containing a string of alphanumeric characters — to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser and lets us help you log in faster and enhance your navigation through the site. A cookie may also convey information to us about how you use the Service (e.g. the pages you view, the links you click and other actions you take on the Service), and allow us to track your usage of the Service over time. School or district in relation to information about their users, for example to let managers know which teachers are using Rhymes with Reason. Teachers who are the managers of a class so they can see the students in that class. Administrators who are the managers of a school or district account so they can see information about the users in their school or district. Other companies owned by or under common ownership as Rhymes with Reason, which includes our subsidiaries (i.e., any organization we own or control) or our ultimate holding company (i.e., any organization that owns or controls us) and any subsidiaries it owns. These companies will use your personal information in the same way as we can under this Policy; Third party vendors, consultants, contractors and other service providers that perform services on our behalf, in order to carry out their work for us, which may include content or service fulfillment, accounting, or providing analytics services; Third parties at your request. Any information or content that you voluntarily disclose for posting to the Service, such as User Content, becomes available to the public and/or to other Rhymes with Reason members, as controlled by any applicable privacy settings. Additionally, you may have the option to share your activities on our Services with your friends through social media. Rhymes with Reason does not have control over your information shared with third party social networks and you should review the policies of those networks before consenting to share information;Other parties in connection with any company transaction, such as a merger, sale of company assets or shares, reorganization, financing, change of control or the acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company or third party or in the event of bankruptcy or related or similar proceedings. Your Choices About Your Information
Communications. You can click the “unsubscribe” button on promotional email communications. Note that you are not permitted to unsubscribe or opt-out of non-promotional messages regarding your account, such as account verification, password requests, change or updates to features of the Service, or technical and security notices.
Data Retention: We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If your account becomes inactive, we will maintain your personal information in the event you wish to re-engage in our Service. We will not sell or rent any of your or your students’ information to any third party for any purpose, and we do not track users outside of our website. Keeping Your Information Safe
Rhymes with Reason cares about the security of your information and uses commercially reasonable safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of all information collected through the Service. However, no security system is impenetrable and we cannot guarantee the security of our systems 100%. In the event that any information under our control is compromised as a result of a breach of security, we will take reasonable steps to investigate the situation and where appropriate, notify those individuals whose information may have been compromised and take other steps, in accordance with any applicable laws and regulations. Rhymes with Reason is not responsible for the functionality or security measures of any third party.
Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect or solicit information from anyone under the age of 13. The intended use of this Website is as a tool to advance the education of students in middle and high school (secondary school). In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. Schools Privacy
In some circumstances, we may permit a School to register Students to our service for the purpose of providing educational services. Because Rhymes with Reason provides the Service to School to benefit and enhance the School’s curriculum, Rhymes with Reason relies on the school to obtain and provide appropriate consent, if needed, to collect personal information of students.
The Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act (“COPPA”) requires that online service providers obtain clear and verifiable parental consent before receiving personal information from children under 13. Because Rhymes with Reason provides the Service to School to benefit and enhance the School’s curriculum, RHYMES WITH REASON RELIES ON SCHOOL TO OBTAIN AND PROVIDE APPROPRIATE CONSENT, IF NEEDED, TO COLLECT STUDENT INFORMATION. School represents and warrants that School has the authority to provide consent for Rhymes with Reason to collect information from students before allowing students under 13 to access our Service, and that School has provided appropriate disclosures to students and parents regarding School’s sharing of Student Data with service providers such as Rhymes with Reason. We recommend that School provide a copy of our Privacy Policy to parents and guardians.
