The Milwaukee Bucks are helping middle school students throughout their city to improve literacy skills and academic confidence alongside partner Rhymes With Reason.
Rhymes With Reason is an award-winning educational technology program that leverages popular and hip-hop music to inspire students to be more engaged in their academic lives. Thanks to the Bucks, over 100 students at St. Augustine Preparatory Academy and Milwaukee Public Schools' Townsend Street School will be able to access the program.
The Milwaukee team will offer once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for students to engage with team personalities, such as their popular mascot Bango. Students will earn these rewards through achievements, such as working alongside fellow young scholars to help their classroom average fifty or more new vocabulary words learned. The Bucks’ take pride in this opportunity to increase students’ enthusiasm for classroom activities, and aim to put momentum behind students’ academic progress, in turn raising their self esteem.
Rhymes With Reason is thrilled to be a key partner in this endeavor.
