Rhymes with Reason, an educational technology company that aims to democratize English language literacy through music, has proudly launched an initiative with the Detroit Pistons and SAY Detroit Play Center.

This partnership allows Detroit area youth who attend SAY Detroit Play Center to cash in learning badges earned on the Rhymes with Reason platform for exclusive Pistons rewards including: tickets to Pistons G-League Affiliate Motor City Cruise Games, tickets to Pistons Games and a special guest appearance from a Pistons Influencer.

Students from elementary through high school worked hard to learn enough new words to earn tickets to a Detroit Pistons game where they met Rhymes With Reason Founder & CEO Austin Martin.

After the student rap battle at SAY Detroit Play Center’s culminating event, students celebrated with Pistons legend Earl ‘The Twirl’ Cureton, rapper Gmac Cash, Kev Knows and Hooper the mascot.

Rhymes with Reason is a Black-owned educational technology program utilized in over 200 schools across the country and has partnered and collaborated with high profile organizations including Chance the Rapper’s SocialWorks, The City of Detroit’s Grow Detroit Young Talent and San Diego’s Founders First Capital Partners CDC.

The program's culturally-relevant, music-powered approach to closing the vocabulary and reading gap serves as a refreshing learning experience for youth in grades 2 through 12.
